Description: Brave Vangeli (Katia Dandoulaki) informs the people in Souli that Ali Pasha (Fernando Sancho) is planning to attack them and occupy their town. His attack, however, fails due to the brave resistance of the Souliotes, whose leader is Fotos Tzavellas (Christos Kalavrouzos). Vangeli fights beside the other villagers, and she falls in love with Captain Koga Drakos (Giannis Katranis). However, the treachery of Pilios Gousis will be disastrous. The Souliotes fight heroically, Kougi is bombed, and the women of Zalongo, in an attempt to escape their inevitable capture and rape, dance along the top of the cliff and then leap over the precipice holding their children in their arms.
