  • Beskrivelse: Giorgis, who is the only son of Manolis Bournovas, the chief shepherd of a mountain village, is also the bridegroom that every young woman in the village dreams of. However, he is head over heels in love with Droso, a rebellious and wild young woman. Giorgis’ father, who is also a tough money-lender and has seized Droso’s land, is against this relationship. Droso quarrels intensely with Bournova, and later he is found dead in the orchard. Everybody believes that the young woman killed him. Droso runs away from the village and finds refuge in the caves and on the ridges of the mountains among the stout-hearted men that belong to Zarvas’ gang of bandits. He also helps to reveal the real identity of Bournovas’ murderer. Maria, a noble young woman who is in love with Giorgis, is found to be the murderer and is arrested by the police. So, Droso is now free to marry Giorgis.
