Webinar: Enriching Film Heritage Data with OpenRefine

On July 5, 2023 from 11am-12pm CEST, DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum and The European Film Gateway gave an overview of how the free open source tool OpenRefine can be used for data enrichment and transformation.

Starting with an export of film collection data, the webinar showed how OpenRefine can be used to cleanse and enrich the existing information using the Reconciliation functionality. This process allows an archive's data to be linked and enhanced with public data sources such as Wikidata. An overview of data transformation via templating completed the overview. The data examples and thematic focused on film heritage and filmographic data.

The webinar was organized by DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum as part of the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage.
