The Baltic Audiovisual Archival Council (BAAC) is accepting submissions for its 2023 Annual Conference in Riga, Latvia, from September 27 to 29, 2023.
The conference aims to address the challenges faced by audiovisual heritage institutions in today's complex environment, including geopolitical tensions, limited resources, the impact of new technologies, and diverse stakeholder expectations.
Topics of interest include the influence of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence on audiovisual archives, access to AV materials and ethical considerations, digitization and digital restoration, political and governmental pressures on AV archives, managing traditional and digital collections, and leveraging the potential of the community through crowdsourcing.
Abstracts of up to 500 words should be submitted by June 30, 2023, to conference@baacouncil.org. Accepted presenters will be notified by August 1, 2023.
