Detailed description provided by the archive:
The DFI Production Stills Collection displays large thumbnail images of more than a century of Danish film production. Stills give scholars an insight into the visual quality and style of films, which is especially important for films that no longer survive. Since stills have been created to market the film to an audience, they often have an instant appeal to a broad audience. The span of stills in the DFI collection give the opportunity to both use the stills as a reference to the films they were created to accompany, but also to study the development of production still photography as a photographic genre.
