>> View collection The Czech National Film Archive makes eight Czech feature films from the silent film era available via EFG. An overview of the history of the Czech documentary film provides the collection "Czech Documentary Films". Up to 200 films from 1898 to 1928 can be viewed on EFG.
Detailed description provided by the archive:
The Czech feature film collection of the National Film Archive in Prague contains more than 3,000 titles from period 1898-2010. It is quite an exceptional fact worldwide that two thirds of silent feature films and all Czech feature films from the period 1930 – 1992 (except for ten films from the period 1930 – 1939) were managed to be preserved from the national production. NFA gives online access to eight very early feature films (1898 - 1920) via EFG.
The Czech non-feature film collection of the National Film Archive in Prague starts with the year 1898. In November 2010, the collection contained more than 8,000 titles. Here we can find all types of non-feature cinematographic production – films concentrated on life in the countryside or in the town, advertising, cultural, classroom films etc. Within the EFG project were accessed 200 non-feature films from the period till 1928.
