Her mother Despo is suffering from a heart condition and has placed all her hope of Fani getting married in Nick, a student who works nights as a singer in a club. Petras’ son, Angelos, likes Fani for her exceptional personality and her modesty, but Angelos’ father wants him to marry Anna, his partner’s daughter. Meanwhile, Fani’s mother passes away, while Fani’s good name is marred when she framed in a theft, making it necessary for her to distance herself from Nick. Fani’s father (who she thought was killed during the Occupation) helps her get back together again with Nick.
